Sidmouth Victoria Hospital

The new extension and refurbished buildings at Sidmouth Hospital were officially opened by her Royal Highness Princess Ann. Lily Chapman, Locality Manager, was delighted to give the Royal Princess a fifty minute tour of the hospital and to introduce the Princess to patients, their carers and hospital staff.

During the last nine years the hospital's Comforts Fund has raised much money and contributed £1.5 million to improvements at the hospital. The Princess acknowledged the importance of their role by taking morning tea with some of the members.

A commemorative plaque was unveiled by the Princess Royal and she spoke about the hospital, what it means to the local community and the value of what has already been achieved.
