Carry on The good work

The family of a Physiotherapist who donated £5,000 to Leatherhead Hospital in her memory have helped to carry on her good work with patients.

Beatrix Close used to work at the hospital and was married to a local GP.

After she died her mother-in-law Meg Close used money left to her by a friend to buy an up-to-date rehabilitation treadmill for the gym, which can monitor patients' heart rate.

Senior Physiotherapist Cathy Rogerson said, "It's great, we can make patients go uphill and downhill and even walk backwards. It really works them hard and its fantastic because everyone's getting benefits. We can do tailor-made individual programmes and we're also using it for our Parkinson's disease group."
